Melmac – Appearance

Melmac magic mushrooms have a beautiful and easy-to-identify appearance. However, some people report that they resemble circumcised penises when fresh, thanks to PE genes.

• Size: bigger than PE, 6-8 inches (15-20 cm) long stem, 1,5 to 2 inches (3-5 cm) in cap diameter;

• Cap: very close to the stem, deeper golden colored, slight waves towards the end of the cap;

• Stem: pale white, sometimes with light yellow shades, warped.

Some shroomers believe that Melmac magic mushrooms got their name from the planet with the same title. Melmac planet was mentioned in the American sitcom Alf. Melmac’s twisted and unusual appearance makes shroomers believe that they truly came from outer space.

Melmac – Origins

As with all buy magic mushrooms, there’s no official version of Melmac’s origins. However, we know three most described theories:

1. In the early 1970s Terence Mckenna discovered the Penis Envy strain in the Amazon Rainforest and sent collected wild spore samples to mycologist Steven Pollock who isolated Penis Envy genetics;
2. The other story suggests that Richard Guiterrez, another mycologist, cultivated the Penis Envy strain from Mckenna’s spores;
3. The last but not least theory is that the Melmac strain emerged after dozens of experiments performed by Homestead company on the Penis Envy strain.

There is one more story for true fans of conspiracy theories — Melmac IS the Penis Envy, there were no mutations and Homestead called Penis Envy “Homestead PE” just to historically perpetuate its name. One thing for sure, Melmac was given an original name because of its unique physical features that shroom growers saved and reproduced throughout countless generations.
